Lavieen Thulium Laser. Laser treatment of discolouration

How to prepare for the procedure:

  • The procedure is carried out following a consultation with the specialist.
  • Topical anaesthetic cream is applied directly onto the treated area before the procedure.
  • A few days before the procedure refrain from using facial cream and other cosmetics containing retinoids and acids.
  • Do not perform any exfoliation procedures such as peels or microdermabrasion.

  Procedure description and effects:

  • In this procedure the precisely adjusted depth of laser beam penetration and the energy of its pulses enables a deep reconstruction of the skin structure starting from the base layer.
  • This is a short procedure.
  • The patient may feel burning or stinging during the procedure.
  • Skin regeneration processes are activated during the procedure.
  • The result is refined skin colour, improved elasticity, wrinkles smoothing, scar lightening, and the reduction of the appearance of pores.

After the procedure:

  • Erythema and slight swelling may occur immediately after treatment and stay for up to 24 hours.
  • We recommend that you use a regenerating, moisturising cream with UV filter for a couple of days after the treatment.
  • Avoid physical activity, hot baths and sauna in the first week after the procedure.
  • It is also recommended to abstain from exposing skin to the sun for 4 weeks following the procedure.
  • It is recommended to stay hydrated and drink water regularly.

Contraindications:

  • pregnancy
  • new cold-sore
  • skin inflammation
  • use of photosensitising drugs, be it antibiotics, steroids, or herbs
  • use of photosensitising herbs, such as St John’s wort, marigold, common horsetail
  • retinoid treatment, both topical and general
  • recent peels
  • tanned skin, use of self-tanning cosmetics
