Cosmelan/Dermamelan – depigmentation therapy

Cosmelan is one of the fastest and most effective ways to permanently eradicate skin discolouration caused by hormones. How to prepare for the procedure:

Procedure description and effects:

The second phase takes place at home and takes about 2-3 months, during which the patient applies Cosmelan 2 cream received during the procedure.
  • The treatment should not be stopped or spread over a period longer than prescribed.
  • The treatment is ideal for discolourations of various origin, most commonly in melasma and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. The effect of brightening and the disappearance of the marks will be visible on the 8th day of application. Patients with lighter complexion may notice the effects later.
  • After a few months the procedure can be repeated — Cosmelan works by temporarily inhibiting hyperpigmentation, after the treatment the discolourations may become active again.

After the procedure:

  • Patients can return to their daily activities after 4-5 days.
  • Exposure to the sun should be avoided throughout the entire therapy.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy and nursing;
  • Acute skin inflammation, including acne;
  • Oral retinoid therapy.

  • Exposure to the sun and sunbeds should be avoided.

Contraindications:

  • Pregnancy and nursing,
  • Laser depilation and epilation,
  • Acne in its active form,
  • Active skin inflammation, including cold sore,
  • The use of vitamin A derivatives.
